Sage Cornbread Dressing

Eight to ten servings.

You need:

  • 3 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 2 cups coarsely crumbled day-old bread
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon dried whole sage, crushed

You do:

  1. Combine all ingredients.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 13 X 9 X 2 inch baking dish.
  4. Bake, uncovered at 325° for 1 hour or until golden brown.
