Old Fashioned Cornbread

Bowens old-fashioned cornmeal

  1. Combine 1 1/2 Cups buttermilk, 1 teaspoonful salt, 1 1/4 teaspoonful soda, and 1 egg.
  2. To this mixture, add a tolerable amount of cornmeal to make mixture the consistency of cake batter.
  3. Spoon this mixture out in a well greased pan.
  4. You can take it up in a small section when baked.
  5. Bake in a moderate oven until brown.
